Sometimes when you’re playing with your puppies, they get too aggressive and won’t let go! Phinn loves to play tug, and is quite strong. Today on Dog Trick Thursday, we’ll explain how to teach your dog to “drop it”!
First, make sure you have some treats. Next, throw a ball, or get a rope toy and have them put it in their mouth. When they come back to you, hold a treat in your closed fist and firmly say “drop it!” while holding the treat near their mouth. As soon as they smell the treat, the mouth should start to water and that toy will fall right out!
